Feeling Good Hypnotherapy

Live the life you want
Do you struggle to achieve any of your goals? Do you constantly put yourself down? Do you think you’ll never be enough, thin enough, clever enough, attractive enough, popular enough or successful enough? It could be that you think that these thoughts about yourself will never change. You may have become unemployed or perhaps or your relationship has ended. It may be that you have suffered one or more bereavements or undergone significant life changes. You may be feeling lost and lacking in confidence and self-esteem. Many of us feel unattractive and invisible as we become older or come to a crossroads not knowing which way to turn. Confidence can also be affected by negative and seemingly simple events during our day to day living. Through hypnotherapy you can learn how to switch off the destructive voices of low self-esteem and lack of confidence. You can start to live the life you want and connect with the confident and amazing you once again.
Safe, gentle and relaxing environment
Lack of confidence very often begins because of negative childhood or teenage experiences. It can also stem from significant or difficult events in our adult life. These negative experiences can then affect our mental and emotional wellbeing and prevent us from achieving our full potential. Hypnotherapy can help to get to the root of the problem. Hypnotherapy challenges negative thought processes and limiting beliefs and can eliminate self-doubt, allowing you to renew your determination, generate a more positive future and create a more confident self-image.

It creates an awareness that old, outdated and inappropriate ways of being belong in the past. It introduces new behaviours and possibilities in a safe, gentle and relaxing environment. It is an exciting journey of discovery. A wonderful journey towards the new and fabulous you that’s just waiting to emerge.
Story time
As a hypnotherapist, I trained in the Ericksonian tradition which uses more of what we call indirect suggestions. Indirect suggestions are much harder for your unconscious mind to resist. They often take the form of metaphors and storytelling. This is instead of the more authoritative or direct style of suggestion. I do, however, adapt my practice according to the needs and temperament of the client.
Counselling
There is a light at the end of the tunnel
I am passionately committed to helping people achieve as much of their personal potential as possible. I have experienced a diverse working life and met different people from many walks of life. These experiences afford me a greater insight into many of the problems that clients bring to the counselling or hypnotherapy room.

I have worked as a Person-Centred Counsellor with alcohol addiction at EDAS, dealt with student issues at Southampton University Counselling Service and offered grief and loss counselling with Cruse Bereavement Care.
My experience also includes supporting individuals with many complex needs including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, confidence, relationship issues, PTSD, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, stress, eating disorders, fears and phobias. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Finding your own way to move forward
As a counsellor, I work in a person-centred way. This means I seek to understand your experience from your own point of view. I value you as a unique being and aim to be open and genuine. This is vital to help you feel accepted and to better understand your own feelings. It also helps you to reconnect with your inner values and sense of self-worth. This reconnection with your inner resources enables you to find your own way to move forward in a mutually trusting, safe and honest therapeutic relationship without feeling judged or directed.

Self-help tools
I believe in equipping clients with tools such as self-hypnosis, CBT and EFT to enable them to continue and maintain the benefits of their sessions both during and after therapy. People come to me with a range of psychological and anxiety related issues that affect their quality of life, and my aim is to positively influence my clients for change and grow.
To make the best of themselves.
I am passionate about helping people to cope and to make the best of themselves. As well as my professional caring roles, I have also been a carer for my father who had Parkinson’s disease. This required patience, compassion, resourcefulness, excellent communication skills, energy, a practical approach and a good sense of humour. During my role as a teacher and mentor, I gained much experience and satisfaction working with students with autism and learning difficulties. My role was to assist them in their struggle to fulfil their potential, gain access to employment, useful life skills and more satisfying and functional relationships.
Codes and Ethics
I practise within the BACP and Hypnotherapy Society comprehensive Codes of Ethics. All clients are treated with the highest respect and treated with equal care, regardless of age, race, creed, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or gender. I provide a confidential, supportive, congruent, non-judgmental and empathic environment. An environment where clients can feel safe and respected and therefore able to share their concerns as a first step to overcoming their difficulties and realising their full potential.
Tailored specifically for you

Successful therapeutic outcomes depend on a very thorough consultation during the first session. From the initial consultation and throughout each treatment session, you can expect a highly professional and confidential service. Many people are anxious about seeking therapeutic help. I ensure you feel at ease throughout your sessions with me. I am also trained in CBT and I strive to create a tailored treatment programme specifically for you. No two treatment plans are the same.
